Information we collect and how it is used
Information you give us directly. We may ask for or receive information such as your first and last name, and email address if you correspond with us, or submit feedback. We may also keep any Content you Post using the Service in association with your User ID and IP address. This information is used to maintain, operate, and provide you with the functionality and the safety features of the Service.
Basic account information. We use API services provided by third-party social networking applications (e.g. Facebook, Twitter) to obtain basic user account information: name, email address, username and profile picture URL. We do so in accordance with the rules and policies established by these social networks. We explicitly request your permission to access otherwise unavailable pieces of information, such as your email address, during the login process. Names, usernames and profile pictures are used in the presentation of Walls and Content, and are displayed publicly. We may use your email address to occasionally send you Service-related messages (see “Communications” below).
Monitoring. We may automatically screen the Content Users Post to the Service for inappropriate behavior and other violations of our Terms of Service. Select Content may be monitored and reviewed by our safety team, especially in the case of reported misconduct, but also to verify and improve the effectiveness of the automated screening system.
Communications. We may use the information we receive or collect to communicate directly with you, e.g. via email. We may use your email address to send you Service-related messages (account confirmation, notifications, reminders, technical or security notices, changes and updates to the Service, administrative messages etc.). Some of these communications you may not be able to opt-out from receiving. They are considered part of the Service.
Uses of information we collect. We may use web beacons, log files, device identifiers, and cookie information to: (a) remember information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your current or next visit to the Service; (b) provide custom content or features; (c) to monitor and improve the effectiveness of our Service; (d) monitor aggregate statistics such as the number of visitors and traffic patterns; (e) diagnose or fix technical problems; (f) help you access information after you log in; (g) to serve ads, which may be tailored to your interests, and (h) to keep the Service safe.
